NICK CLIFFORD // writer, producer, actor

Nick Clifford is an award-winning producer, writer and actor who has been working in Los Angeles for over 10 years. As an actor, he has starred in numerous television shows and films, including a starring role in the upcoming season of GLOW on Netflix. He was up for Emmy-consideration for his role in the final season of Showtime’s MASTERS OF SEX. He also starred as Andy Kelly on VH1’s critically-acclaimed cult-comedy HINDSIGHT, as well as memorable roles on VEEP, BIG BANG THEORY, 2 BROKE GIRLS, NCIS, MAJOR CRIMES and many more.

As a producer, Nick’s work has screened at top film festivals around the world, including the Cannes Film Festival, the Hamptons International Film Festival, the Tribeca Film Festival and the Seattle International Film Festival. He’s been writing and producing short-form digital content for years, with pilots and series that have sold to XBox Live, EPIX and HULU.

Nick balances his narrative work with commercial work, where he works as a freelance production manager for major brands and ad agencies. He’s worked on campaigns for BOOST MOBILE, UBER, GOOGLE, SONY, BANK OF AMERICA and more.

Born and raised in New York City and Brussels, Belgium, Nick has been working in entertainment since he was young. He trained with the Powerhouse Theater Company and New York Stage & Film before continuing on to Brown University, where he graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Financial Economics.

CATE SMIERCIAK // writer, director, producer

Cate Smierciak's recent projects include directing new works by John Rosania - PREFACE and IMPOSSIBLE LOVE - with PLAY Collaborative in Los Angeles. Her short film, CLAIRE, premiered at the Nashville film festival and screened in numerous others, including the Mt. Hood film festival, where it won best narrative short. Cate produced the short film THE OPPORTUNIST, with Alberto Roldán, starring Nick Clifford and directed by David Lassiter, which premiered at the 52nd Annual Cannes Film Festival in the Critic's Week section.

She also produced EVERYTHING & EVERYTHING & EVERYTHING with David Lassiter, starring Shane Carruth and directed by Alberto Roldán, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. She's currently developing MUDPOTS - a teen love story that takes place on the Salton Sea, and GRANDMA'S CABIN - a horror/thriller about two sisters and their witchy family heritage.

Cate holds a Bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University, where she studied Radio/Television/Film, Art Theory & Practice, and participated in the Animate Arts program. In 2009, she received a DAAD Artist Scholar Grant to study directing at the HFF Konrad Wolf, Potsdam, Babelsberg.Cate owes much of her producing prowess to time spent working with K5 International in Munich and IFP in New York - and all the fabulous kindly-drill-sergeant-fairy-godmothers she's encountered along the way.
